The
Shared MIME Database stores information about file types.
It holds information such as "Files with names ending in .html have the MIME type text/html" and "A text/html file should be described as an `HTML Page'".
Normally, you shouldn't need to edit this database, but if you do you can use MIME-Editor for the task.
Drag
this link to Add App. To upgrade an existing version, right-click on MIME-Editor in ROX-Filer and choose
Versions... from the menu.

1. Make sure ROX-Lib2 is installed (drag it to your /lib directory).
2. Download the archive above.
3. Extract it (eg, by dragging it to Archive)
4. Click on it to run it if your filer supports application directories, or run the MIME-Editor/AppRun file if it doesn't.
5. The documentation is in the MIME-Editor/Help directory.
There is no need to compile; it's a python program.
