ROX-Session

Summary:
a simple session manager for the ROX Desktop.
Current stable version:
0.40.0
Primary author(s):
Thomas Leonard

ROX-Session is a simple session manager. It loads, runs any programs you asked it to, and then quits when you run it a second time (thus ending your session). It does not display any windows until you ask it to quit.

The first time you run it it will offer to make itself your session manager, so that you'll get a ROX desktop when you log in (see screenshots below).

ROX-Session will automatically run any programs in your AutoStart directory when you log in. You can open this directory by bringing up the menu over ROX-Session's icon and choosing Auto Start....

ROX-All

Summary:
a single archive containing launchers for most of the ROX applications
Current stable version:
1.4
Current testing version:
1.5
Primary author(s):
Thomas Leonard

ROX-All is a single archive containing launchers for most of the ROX applications. It contains everything you need to get started with ROX. Because actually putting all the software in this archive would make it very big and quickly out of date, it will download the latest versions of programs when you run them the first time. Therefore, you will need a network connection (but only when downloading or upgrading programs).

AddApp

Summary:
create ROX application launchers
Current stable version:
0.8
Current testing version:
0.9
Primary author(s):
Thomas Leonard

AddApp allows you to install additional applications easily.

Note that AddApp is included in the ROX-All package. If unsure, start with that instead.

To install AddApp itself enter this command in a terminal window:

$ 0launch http://rox.sourceforge.net/2005/interfaces/AddApp

If you don't have the 0launch command, get it from the injector page. It's easy to install, as it's just a Python script (also included in ROX-All).
